Arrival moment

At 12:48 p.m., about 18 hours behind schedule,  the Faith Church team landed in Managua and arrived at Nehemiah Center an hour later, welcomed by the Van Klompenburgs. Claude Zylstra says to tell the people back home they were welcomed by 90 degree temperatures. So, I'm telling you, despite the fact that saying the temperature may leave me no friends in Iowa upon my return.

They unloaded luggage, settled into their dormitory style rooms and then listened to Nicaraguan Pastor Henri Cruz talk about the current state of Nicaraguan Evangelical churches and the FE (Church Strengthening) program of the Nehemiah Center. His Powerpoint presentation flew by at the speed of light. Nehemiah Center staff assured us that this was just a "slice of the pie" and we would understand more as the week went on. We are convinced, if this was a slice of the pie, it must have been pecan--It was so dense and so rich.
I've asked Pastor Henri to email me the Powerpoint. Some of us what those facts in writing--(even though it is in Spanish.)

Supper and conversation followed in the open-air ranchero. Angie De Waard joined us.

And now it's time for group devotions. Thanks for checking in--and greetings to our North American friends!
